Another group of girls in Thailand to have fun with is the group of so-called Entertainment girls. This is a large and diverse pool of girls who are in for all kinds of services and entertainment.
Entertainment girls are essentially the girls you see in countless bars and restaurants, pouring you drinks, promoting a certain brand of beer, "taking care" of a number of tables in a restaurant and so on. Depending on the venue, they will sit with you, chat with you, drink and party for hours on a fun night out. When they work in a bar or restaurant, they are hired by that place, but you can also hire this type of girl yourself and have a more private, fun and intimate evening or time out.
There are various job titles for this type of girl: entertainment girls (สาวเอนเตอร์เทน or abbreviated เอน or N), Pretty Girl (PG) or beer girl (typically for promoting a certain brand of beer), MC (master of ceremony) if there is a little bit more to coordinate, and so on. Entertainment girls are usually different from waitresses in regular restaurants, because those won't sit with you and you can certainly not put an arm around her shoulder or a hand on her hip, but sometimes there is some overlap.
They are also certainly different from the 'professional' bar girls you find along the tourist streets like Loikroh and the beer bar area, because those are typically die-hard bar girls, often a bit older and often from Isaan province, very used to foreigners, with good English (even knowing some English slang) and whom you can take home at a standard bar fine rate. If English language skills is an absolute necessity for you, go to the tourist streets because there they are used to it, but it will give you much less flavour of the local Thailand, where local Thai men go and what they do.
What local Thai men do is either go to venues where they chat up a girl or they hire entertainment girls to join them for drinks and more.
Entertainment girls are different from other groups of girls discussed on this site mainly because their primary activity is different, it's entertainment, not massage or plain prostitution, but in the end there will be some overlaps between all these groups of girls. For example, some girls who have a job in the daytime may work part-time as an entertainment girl at night, some work as sidelines, and some work in massage parlours.
If you hire an entertaiment girl, she spends the reserved time on you, so you've got private company. Essentially, you're "renting a girlfriend". In Japan, this concept of 'rent-a-girlfriend' has been popular for quite some time, probably because there are so many lonely people there, but in Thailand it's more about having fun and taking it as far as both want it to go.
A good way to hire entertainment girls is when you're with a group of friends and like to have a few local girls around to light up the atmosphere and join you for a party. But you can also hire a girl privately, let her parade next to you during shopping, go to the movies or accompany you during sightseeing.
BOOKING AN ENTERTAINMENT GIRL IS LIKE RENTING A GIRLFRIEND
Thai men mostly hire entertainment girls to go drinking and partying at night, they tend to go out in groups and hire a bunch of girls to entertain them. So most of the entertainment girls are used to that scene and can party till late at night. But you can make your own arrangement and do something completely different.
Language skills are a major barrier to newcomers who don't master Thai well enough to keep the conversation going, so if you hire an entertainment girl, keep in mind that most of them are not good at English or only can speak some basic sentences. There are, amongst the group of entertainment girls, some who can speak fairly good English or Chinese, but the vast majority is not so good at it. A way to keep things light and lively is to hire a pair of entertainment girls, this way they can chat with each other and there are not too many awkward silences. The best way, of course, is when you speak Thai, then all roads are open.
Within the pool of entertainment girls, there are essentially three main sub groups:
N stands for Entertainment (เอนเตอร์เทน), also abbreviated as ENT or แอน in Thai.
The N girls are for entertainment only: sitting with you, drinking, eating, chatting, pouring your drinks, go shopping with, and so on.
NR stands for N แรง, freely translated as 'rougher entertainment'. In Thai this group is also sometimes referred to as นัวเนีย (meaning to mess around with the girl). This means you can touch the girl in whatever way you want, when she sits with you can can put your arm around her, touch her hips, breast and slip your hand into her pants. This is a more rough, more heavy kind of partying. Not all N girls accept to do NR.
V [วี] stands for VIP, in other words the girl will give you the VIP treatment: she'll sleep with you either after the entertainment part or straightaway.
How far you can take it with entertainment girls depends in the first place on what you book, but if you book an N girl only, it doesn't mean you can't end up sleeping with her. A lot of N girls will try to look for a job for the evening and not publicly tell others that they will accept more than entertainment only, but if they feel comfortable with you, things can go any way. In the end, all of these girls have their needs and desires, their bills to pay, their dreams and hopes, so if you take it slowly and show that you're a nice guy, a gentleman or generous, in principle the sky is the limit.
If you're a foreigner and not 100% used to all ways of going out in Thailand yet, it's best to book an entertainment girl through Make My Night Entertainment or Home Alone outcall agent. Both are fast and reliable outcall agents. Note that entertainment girls are not "trained", the agent will know from feedback of bookings which girls are better than others.
