De Welcome Massage is an average Thai massage shop of which you'll find many all over Chiang Mai. The Thai massage I had was okay-ish, nothing out of the ordinary, rooms rather basic. There are no private rooms, all beds are separated by curtains.

After about 45-50 min the masseuse asked the annoying question "Do you want Special? If you want, another girl will come and finish for you." This obviously doesn't work, because you got to switch the girl, you have to adapt to another feel, other hands, another energy, and you don't even know how she looks like. That besides all the talking and negotiating. Out of curiosity, I let the other girl come, it took quite a while, she probably had to be called from the other branch, and the mood was spoiled either for a continued proper massage or for a special massage.

There are some staff in the shop who do special and some others who don't. So that clearly doesn't work.

Conclusion: this shop tries to mix regular traditional massage with special massage. The result is an uncomfortable situation both for the customer who wants a real Thai massage and for the customer who wants a sensual massage. The traditional Thai massage is average, you'll find it everywhere else, and the sensual massage cannot be comfortable if you have to go through some negotiation process, switch girls and wait.

If you want a regular traditional Thai massage, better go to a proper massage shop where they only do that, and if you want a sensual massage just go to the neighbour Senz~ Diva where the entire process is completely smooth and without any struggle.
So I see no reason to go to De Welcome.
