This restaurant is now called Vegan Heaven
Vegetarian restaurant with a lot of Elephant advertising
FOOD REVIEW BY MICHAEL (2014)
TASTE FROM HEAVEN
Nothing special under the sun
Cuisine: health foods, vegetarian
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Recommended dishes: juices
Price indication: not so cheap; average meal about THB 200-300+ / person
Open: every day from breakfast to dinner until 9 or 10 pm
Though the name suggests otherwise, Taste From Heaven offers certainly not heavenly food.
The menu is quite large and has all kinds of items, ranging from breakfast to spaghetti and the usual Thai dishes. But the taste is nothing special, even some vegetables don't taste crispy fresh as one would expect from a vegetarian.
The only reason why this restaurant is blossoming is its location, close to Taphae gate, and the never-ending influx of first time tourists. I don't think die-hard vegetarians who live in Chiang Mai more long term would go here, there's simply much better vegetarian food elsewhere, and it's cheaper too.
The owner of the restaurant runs the Elephant Nature Park, so you'll see a lot of advertising for it in the the restaurant. Supposedly, some of the money you spend eating will go to these creatures.
