Home-made Yunnanese kitchen in a local place

Run by an extended Chinese family from Yunnan, expect some dishes here you can't find anywhere else in Chiang Mai. You can order in Mandarin here, if that's better than your Thai. From the outside, it looks like a simple standard place, like the many Thai local places. But don't be put off or mislead (like some of my friends), the food here is very good: pure, simple, not oily or full of MSG, yet tasty and subtle.
The staff take a lot of care to prepare it (I believe they put more 'love' in it than in places that explicitly advertise for it), so it may take a little while before your food is served. But I had some very nice seasonal vegetables here such as pui ling in the cold season, that you cannot find everywhere, and they do it very well.
I recommend trying at least some of the more Chinese-oriented dishes, such as especially the Yunnanese ham with vegetables, which has a nice salty flavour. Then there is some usual Thai style food such as Tom Yam soup, but I'd rather go for the clear mild soups. Finally there is a decent amount of exotic dishes too, such as larvae and all kinds of deep-fried insects, if you're into that.
I believe at times they have some special Yunnanese tofu too, but I was never able to try.
A great place with lovely people and home-made taste that you can easily have a few times a week.
