Ming Kwan belongs to the group of Chinese / Thai vegetarians that offers a lot of cooked food, in buffet style. Unfortunately, it's definitely not one of my favourites for several reasons, the main reason being that they put a lot of MSG in the food.
A lot of (health conscious) foreigners come here and mistake the excess in taste for good cooking, whereas it simply derives from MSG, and it's not so healthy at all.
I tried again recently and I could hardly finish my plate, even after adding another bowl of rice.
The rice here, by the way, is not really brown rice, but just a mix of white and a little bit of brown rice.
You'll find dishes here that aim to resemble meat or fish, but in fact are made of tofu or some vegetarian surrogate, something which doesn't make sense at all for taste, but some people apparently need to be able to keep up with eating meatless. I'm not sure, but perhaps this place is even vegan.
Though located at a good spot, modest in style, and well-frequented by foreigners, I recommend to avoid this place and the food.
