Crystal Club is a soapy massage parlour (อาบ-อบ-นวด) that rose from the ashes of the old Celebrities Shower Soapy Massage, which died out during covid. Since then, the soapy massage license of Celebrities was for sale (alledgedly for 20 million baht) for a few years and finally someone bought it up and refurbished the entire building into something that looks luxurious. If you walk up the stairs, you do see traces of the old building which was really run out, but a lot of money was poured in to cover it all up with marble style tiles and shiny surfaces.
You enter through the back of the building and go left up the stairs to a grand lobby, where you can sit and chill alone or with your friends, have a drink or a bite. Mind you, the menu is not that cheap: an average dish that would be priced at 100-200 baht down the road will set you back 400-500 baht in here. Understandable, because all that high-so feeling has to be paid for in the end.
Crystal Club breaks with the old concept of the fish bowl: a glass panel behind which all the girls are sitting to be watched and chosen by customers. Instead, you just lay back on a (too deep) sofa and some mama-san will come and call the girls to present themselves to you. This system is more personal but the light is not so good from some angles so you'd have to ask the girls to line up on a side where you can see their faces well. Also, if a girl comes down from work (after she's done with a customer), you wouldn't notice it as well as in the fishbowl.
I do find it pleasant that it feels more personal, instead of numbers in the fishbowl, the girls are just around you without a number.
The girls that present themselves to me are okay, from mediocre to cute or pretty, but the prices are too steep: lowest rate 2,800 baht and highest rate 15,500 baht for just 1.5 hour of bathing, a bit of massage and full service (sex). Compared to the better body-to-body massage parlours in town, that's really expensive and the girls in the end are about as pretty.
Now perhaps the rooms are nice, but a pretty girl with good skills is more important than a lot of marble in the room, so I think that the Crystal Club is heavily over-priced. and whoever pumped so much cash into the soapy massage license and so much marble ito the old building is not going to earn it back (easily).
There are also some karaoke facilities upstairs but there isn't a separate group of karaoke girls so you'd have to pay expensive dollars to sing a song with the soapy girls, you better get her money's worth and do the deed than sing a song with her.
There are alledgedly 5 floors with 70 rooms, some standard and some even more luxurious, which is totally over-sized for a small city like Chiang Mai. They are never going to fill up all these rooms and certainly not going to employ more girls than there are rooms.
That having said, if you do encounter a girl of your liking and you don't mind spending the cash, it could be worth it for you.
