Anonymous Posted on November 19, 2014 at 03:15:34 I have been renting 650cc bikes from Mr Beer for years and only have good things to say about this place. Have rented elsewhere in Chiangmai but always end up going back to him. He is friendly, accommodating, and always ready to give advice. We started as acquaintance and ended up as friends. It is a norm for him to always pillion me back to my hotel after I returned my bike to him on the last day, so it saved me the trouble walking. The door swings both ways - Be nice and you will be treated the same way.
Anonymous Posted on March 11, 2013 at 05:36:12 STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE I too had a horrible experience with Mr. Beer. Rented a scooter from him for one day just before closing. He was VERY nice as we paid. Did the pre-trip inspection. -Tires looked old -Loose screws -High mileage (So totally normal for Thailand ha) Two hours into the rental a piece of the motor casing falls off. Pick it up and notice all the screws are missing and it has just broken clips. Put it back on and notice there is a big hole in the front tire! This is not a new hole, this is a tear that's been there a while, nice. Ride some more (had errands to do) and continue to pick up parts that fall off. Now at this point I should have just parked it but didn't (my fault). Return it in the morning and BAM! Now the troubles start. Along the way I missed one of the parts (plastic cover). Me "hey, these parts kept falling off and I kept picking them up, I want a new bike this one is dangerous" Beer "that's impossible there are screws holding it on, the parts were stolen at night while you slept" Beer "you own me 1500 baht or no passport" Goes on to threaten to call the police and becomes very threatening towards me. I'm a big guy and this guy was freaking me out a bit. He clearly knew what parts were loose. So I lick my pride, ride off and spend the next few hours searching for parts for this gawd awful bike. Total cost was 250 baht and 3 hours of my time. I refused to fix the tire. Got my passport back and pack up. He then rents the bike to two Japanese girls... with the bad tire still on it!!!! Had to run after them to warn them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! He uses his customers to pay for repairs. Here's a little about me to help judge my comments: -I've traveled all over the world, i'm not a picky prince -I own and maintain my own motorcycle back home and ride many Km's a year
Anonymous Posted on February 17, 2013 at 13:33:02 I beg to differ. I just rented a motorbike for 10 days from Mr Beer. The bike had problem on the 1st day. So on the 2nd day, after confirming with a female staff from Mr Beer that they will pay for the repair, I had the problem fixed for 200THB. When I returned the bike, Mr Beer refused to compensate me, saying that I had used the bike for a long time and it was my problem. It is not the 200THB, But if he is not paying even for such a small amount, u can imagine what if the amount is more.
Anonymous Posted on January 25, 2012 at 08:39:47 if i come to chiangmai i rent the motorbike at mr Beer. This is a friendly place with good prices. You rent a motor bike for 200 bath a day with insurance. I hear a lot of different stories from people who had problem with rental company, i rent for almost 4 years at this place and never had problems, not even when i had a little accident with the motorbike. Good place to rent Have a nice holiday! Astrid |
